On fast trails and rough descents, you want confidence in your rear wheel—not nervousness in every corner. Maxxis Minion DHR II gives you support under braking and composure when the surface changes from dirt to rocks.
This tire is designed for rear-wheel use, where it effectively transfers power to both pedaling and braking. The tread pattern with paddle-shaped center knobs bites in hard under heavy deceleration and holds its line.
The side knobs are based on the Minion DHF model, but they’re wider for better support when leaning. As a result, you corner more smoothly and the bike is less likely to feel “caught out” on loose surfaces.
The MaxxTerra compound is aimed at mixed conditions where dry dust, roots, and damper soil alternate. It offers a balanced mix of grip and sensible rolling efficiency for trail, enduro, and bikepark riding.
The EXO+ casing adds durability for more demanding trail riding. In practice, that means more confidence in rocky sections and fewer worries about tire damage.
The tire size is 29x2,60 for modern MTB bikes.
The bead is a Kevlar folding bead for easier handling and transport.
The construction is Tubeless Ready, marked TR for tubeless use.
The tread compound is MaxxTerra for mixed trail conditions.
Maxxis Minion DHR II in the MaxxTerra/EXO+/TR version is a rear MTB tire built around cornering stability and confidence under hard braking. It’s ideal for riders who push hard and don’t want to worry about every rock individually. Paired with a suitable front tire, it makes a well-balanced set for the entire season.
