The Maxxis Rekon is an aggressive trail tire inspired by the fast Ikon tire, suitable for softer and more demanding terrain.
The wide knobs in the center of the tire ensure control over the bike during hard braking, and the L-shaped side knobs provide support when leaning heavily in corners.
EXO is a puncture and abrasion resistant material that is added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis MTB and gravel tires. Choose EXO Protection for superior durability in gravel, XC and light trail riding.
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance.
And where there is no tube, it also reduces the risk of punctures. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared to be mounted with sealant than other "tubeless" tires. The bead of TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true tubeless UST tire.
The dual tread compounds use two different compounds. The centre of the tread uses a firmer compound to improve rolling resistance and create stronger braking edges, while the sidewalls and the tread side knobs use a softer compound for better control and cornering grip.
