Penco Long Energy snack 50g salty caramel is a gluten-free energy bar with a new formula without palm oil. It contains a unique disaccharide, Palatinose, with a lower glycemic index and gradual energy release. Additionally, it is enriched with BCAA and lecithin. Recommended for sports activities lasting more than 1.5 hours.
Palatinose is a unique disaccharide isomaltulose. It is the first slowly digestible sugar that provides muscles and brain with the same amount of energy (4 kcal/g) as sucrose or glucose, but over a longer period. While regular sugar or glucose is used by the body very quickly and blood sugar level drops to baseline about 60 minutes later, isomaltulose is metabolized much more slowly and its blood level is fully depleted only after 2 hours.
Studies show that BCAA can reduce feelings of fatigue and enhance performance during endurance exercise. BCAA is quickly absorbed by the body and can be used as a source of energy when muscle glycogen is depleted, providing protection for existing muscle tissue (anti-catabolic effect) and serving as a ready building block for new muscle tissue growth (anabolic effect).
