The new generation of P Zero Race TLR tires brings further innovations to one of the most popular models on the market.
The new, improved construction focuses on reducing rolling resistance, a key parameter for cycling tires.
One of the main innovations is a thin airtight layer with aramid particles, called SPEEDCore, which coats the inside of the tire. The greater elasticity of this rubber compound makes the tire faster and more durable.
The tire carcass is reinforced with 120 TPI nylon fabric and an aramid protective belt to prevent punctures. The tire tread is made from the state-of-the-art SmartEVO rubber compound, ensuring maximum performance. All these innovative features of the new P Zero Race TLR are manufactured in Italy with an emphasis on quality and excellent performance.
The primary use of the tire is for performance and endurance bikes and, marginally, time trial bikes, during the seasons of spring, summer, fall, and marginally winter.
The SmartEVO compound developed by Pirelli uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each providing specific properties to achieve an optimal balance of opposing properties such as grip and rolling resistance. The development of the SmartEVO compound has benefited from a wealth of motorsport knowledge drawn from over 100 years of experience. SmartEVO compound offers improved dry and wet grip, while offering lower rolling resistance.
The most powerful tubeless road construction with a unique design that adds an aramid insert to the rubber layer of the tire. This new structure adds strength and support to the tire, but maintains lower stiffness for minimal rolling resistance and maximum grip compared to tires with Bead to Bead aramid construction. The construction has 120 TPI. Exclusively for PZERO Race TLR.
Tubeless rims and tires have a design adapted for tubeless use, provided they are supplemented with sealant, tape and valves. Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits - the ability to run the tire with lower air pressure, which improves traction, lower rolling resistance compared to a tube tire, and less chance of a puncture. We can most often come across names such as Tubeless Ready (TR or TLR), Tubeless Easy (TLE) or Tubeless Compatible (TC), etc. Despite different branding from manufacturers, the essence of the system is the same.
