On a steep climb and a long traverse alike, you want the confidence that your gear stays exactly where it should and your back remains comfortable. The Salewa Ortles Guide 2 45L backpack is built for mountains where uphill, downhill, and technical terrain come one after another. In Faded Green/Black it looks understated, but in practice it’s surprisingly ready for anything.
The 45-liter capacity gives you room for extra layers, safety gear, and food for the whole day, so you don’t have to limit your plans. Close back contact improves stability when you’re carrying skis or when the pack is fully loaded.
The Dry Back Contact system back panel helps maintain breathability on the ascent while keeping the pack close to your body. That makes movement more secure on traverses and when working with an ice axe.
Your mountain kit has its place thanks to the avalanche gear pocket and well-designed attachment points. Ski carry and ice axe attachments speed up transitions when the terrain changes every few minutes.
A removable hip belt and removable lid let you lighten the pack when you’re moving fast and light or climbing. The versatility also shows when packing, because you can tailor the setup to the type of trip.
The material is Robic® nylon with a UHMWPE ripstop grid for low weight and high abrasion resistance.
The backpack volume is 45 liters in the 40–49 l category.
The back panel uses the Dry Back Contact system for stable carry and better moisture management.
Features include hydration reservoir compatibility, a helmet holder, and an avalanche gear pocket.
Salewa Ortles Guide 2 45L is a men’s and all-purpose backpack for ski mountaineering, hiking, and trekking when you need reliable capacity and clear organization. Thanks to the removable components, it easily adapts to a lightweight ascent as well as a fully loaded day.
