When a day in the mountains really gets going, the last thing you want to deal with is a sweaty back or a backpack that slows you down. The Salewa Alp Trainer backpack 20l Syrah is made for fast hiking and shorter treks where comfort, stability, and quick access to your gear matter. In the Syrah colorway (purple), it looks subtly sporty and works just as well when you’re moving through town to the start of your route.
The women’s hiking backpack Salewa Alp Trainer 20 l is built around the Dry Back Air back panel, designed to keep your back drier even during steep, intense climbs. With less contact against your back than older designs, airflow improves, while the pack still stays secure when carrying. The Twin Compression System (TCS) also helps: you can easily pull the load closer to your body—your steps feel more stable and the pack doesn’t bounce unnecessarily. Practical quick-access pockets make it easier to handle small essentials, and when the weather turns, you’ll appreciate the included rain cover.
The backpack has a 20-liter capacity, making it suitable for day hikes, fast treks, and as a compact companion for lightweight trips within the 16–29 l backpack category. For packing and organization, it offers top, front, and side access, so you can reach your gear without time-consuming rearranging. The Dry Back Air back system is built from ventilated, breathable materials and, according to the manufacturer’s measurements, can reduce back temperature by 1.5 °C after 15 minutes of activity compared to the older Air Fit solution. There’s also hydration bladder compatibility and ice axe attachment, so the pack is ready for more technical mountain outings as well.
Salewa Alp Trainer 20l Syrah is a thoughtfully designed women’s hiking and trekking backpack that focuses on ventilation, stable carry, and quick access to equipment. If you’re looking for a compact volume, smart compression, and features you can rely on in changeable weather, this model makes a lot of sense.
