The Santa Cruz Vala 1 Enduro e-bike is a full-suspension mountain e-bike built for enduro riding and technical trail use. It’s based on an aluminum frame and runs a Bosch Performance CX mid-drive motor with a 600 Wh battery. With Shimano Deore components and tough MX wheels, it sits in the upper mid-range performance bracket for demanding trails.
The frame is made from an aluminum alloy in the Aluminum MX version, with 150 mm of rear travel. The rear suspension uses a 4-Bar four-pivot design that keeps shock action under control while braking. The MX concept combines a 29" front wheel and a 27.5" rear for stability up front and agility in tight sections. The front fork has 160 mm travel, so the geometry is aimed at enduro riding and steeper descents.
Drivetrain: Shifting is handled by Shimano Deore M6100 with 12 speeds and no front derailleur. A Shimano Deore 6100 10–51T cassette works with E13 Helix eSpec 160 mm cranks.
Brakes: Shimano Deore M6120 four-piston brakes use Shimano RT66 rotors. Up front it’s 220 mm, and 203 mm at the rear.
Wheels and tires: WTB ST Tough 30 rims are set up in an MX 29"/27.5" combination. Tires are a Maxxis Assegai 29x2.5 EXO+ up front and a Maxxis Minion DHRII 27.5x2.5 DoubleDown at the rear.
Cockpit: Santa Cruz Bicycles Aluminum Bar handlebars have a 35 mm clamp diameter and 800 mm width. A OneUp Enduro Stem 42 mm is paired with an SDG Tellis Dropper 31.6 seatpost and a WTB Silverado Medium saddle.
The 160/150 mm travel combination and 4-Bar layout deliver a composed feel on descents and stability under braking in rough terrain. The MX setup boosts front-wheel confidence at speed and makes direction changes quicker thanks to the smaller rear wheel. The Assegai tire with the tougher EXO+ casing improves support in corners and front-end predictability. The Bosch Performance CX motor helps you keep the pace on long climbs as well as steep punchy sections.
This bike is aimed at experienced riders who want an enduro e-bike for technical trails, descents, and bike-park tracks. You’ll appreciate the four-piston brakes and durable tire setup if you ride at higher speeds and under heavier loads. Within its category, it stands out with the combination of an aluminum frame, 160/150 mm travel, and a Bosch drivetrain in a single spec.
