The Marathon Plus Tire is described by the manufacturer as puncture-resistant. While a puncture can still occur, the risk is minimal with this tire. Another major advantage of the Marathon Plus tire is its excellent rolling resistance and long lifespan with a high mileage capability.
The tire is of traditional construction with a wire bead and a 67 TPI casing. Beneath the tread, there is a 5 mm thick layer of synthetic rubber, one-third of which is made from recycled materials.
The Marathon Plus MTB version features a significantly more aggressive tread pattern designed for off-road use compared to the standard trekking version.
Increased safety is provided by reflective strips on the sides of the tire.
