Description

BMC Kaius 01 THREE is a race-focused carbon gravel bike built for fast riding on both gravel and asphalt. It targets experienced riders who care about power transfer, high-speed stability, and crisp shifting off-road. Its spec, with wireless shifting and aerodynamic features, places it in the higher performance tier of the gravel segment.

Frame and geometry

The monocoque carbon composite frame uses the Kaius 01 Premium Carbon layup and the Aerocore Design solution to integrate profiles and keep airflow clean. The geometry is race-oriented gravel, with an emphasis on a stable front end and efficient acceleration when riding out of the saddle. The construction incorporates TCC Race compliance technology for controlled compliance in high-stress directions. The Kaius 01 Premium Carbon fork is designed for gravel line-holding and supports tire clearance up to 44 mm.

Components

Drivetrain: Shifting is handled by SRAM Rival eTap AXS WIDE in a 2x12 setup. SRAM Rival DUB WIDE 43–30T cranks are paired with a SRAM Rival AXS XG-1250 10–36T cassette.

Brakes: SRAM Rival eTap AXS HRD hydraulic disc brakes use SRAM Paceline rotors mounted via the Centerlock system. Centerlock rotors are fitted front and rear.

Wheels and tires: CRD-400 hubs are laced into gravel wheelsets for the standard 700C size. Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H tires are 40 mm wide and aim for fast rolling on hard surfaces.

Cockpit: The integrated BMC ICS2 stem pairs with BMC RAB 03 handlebars featuring an Ergo Top Shape and compact bend. A Fizik Vento Argo R5 140 mm saddle is complemented by a D-shaped Kaius 01 Premium Carbon seatpost with 15 mm offset.

Ride characteristics

The carbon frame with Aerocore Design increases stiffness in the power-transfer area and helps maintain speed on flat terrain. TCC Race compliance adds vibration damping, improving traction on gravel under steady pedaling. Wireless AXS shifting stays precise even under load on climbs and provides fine gearing steps thanks to the 10–36T cassette. The combination of a stable front end and 40 mm tires supports calm, confident tracking on fast descents over hard-packed surfaces.
