The new Continental GrandPrix 5000 is here. The GP5000 tire is made from a 3-ply material with a TPI of 3/330 and has been improved with the Black Chili compound.
Innovation hasn’t passed by the Vectran Breaker safety belt either. Puncture protection has been increased by 20% while the weight has been reduced by 10 g. With the new model, the designers also managed to reduce rolling resistance by 12% compared to the GrandPrix 4000 S II.
Two new features have also been added, such as Active Comfort Technology, designed to absorb vibrations, and Lazer Grip, providing better grip in corners.
The tire is available in widths of 23, 25, 28, 30, 32 mm.
Top level compound with a perfectly balanced ratio of grip, rolling resistance and durability. It is composed of refined synthetic rubber and natural rubber, to which additives forming a special surface are added. This mixture is produced exclusively at the Korbach plant in Germany.
Vectran is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber based on liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from molten liquid Vectra polymer and further processed into multi-strand yarn. Spider silk, like Vectran, has enormous tear resistance at a very low weight: exactly the right properties to be processed into a premium Continental bicycle tire as a puncture protection liner. Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects against cuts more effectively than comparable nylon fiber and does not adversely affect rolling resistance.
Lasered microfibre structure extends over the tire shoulder and provides excellent stopping power
ACT is a revolutionary technology built into the construction that helps absorb vibrations and makes the rider more comfortable when riding.

Hello. I want to buy the brand, size, TPI mentioned above, but I’m thinking about \"some\" tread pattern. Can you recommend one. I don’t ride off-road, about 4k km a year, but I’m older already, so I’m worried about a fall, that’s why I’m choosing this tire and thinking about some tread pattern.

So far absolutely satisfied. Good rolling and grip. I recommend
Zatím naprosto spokojený. Dobrá valivost a přilnavost. Doporučuji
Absolutely awesome! Tires pumped to 8 bars cushion beautifully and at the same time grip like they're nailed on, even in the wet! Recommend 100%
They roll great, grip even in the wet and durability looks good too. The comfort of 28mm width is ideal for our roads and the weight is excellent. Next time I’ll buy again, Jirka Brno
A kind of road classic among good tires.
Taková silniční klasika mezi dobrými plášti.
Quality tire with long durability. I’ve ridden about 4000 km. I can recommend.
Kvalitní plášť s dlouhou vydrží. Mam najeto cca 4000 km. Mohu doporučit.
The tires roll great, they're fast, they hold in corners and at 28mm width we can talk about a great speed/comfort compromise. They're ideal on roads of mediocre quality.
I rode the whole 2019 season in size 28. About 6000 km without a flat. According to the indicator, they still aren’t worn out. I guess they’ll last another 2–4k km. I bought these for new wheels because they’re excellent
Jezdil jsem celou sezónu 2019 v rozměru 28. Cca 6000 km bez defektu.
