With the Maxxis Assegai tire, even a rough trail calms down and the bike feels more confident when leaned over. When you push into corners, you get clear feedback and steadiness in your hands.
The Assegai tread grips predictably across its entire width, so you stay in control even at higher lean angles. It’s well suited for trail, enduro, and downhill riding where dirt, rocks, and roots alternate.
The MaxxTerra compound balances grip and durability, so you can brake hard without that “rubbery” sluggish feel. In changing conditions, traction remains easy to read and stable.
The EXO+ casing increases sidewall resistance to cuts and helps reduce pinch flats on harder landings. You’ll appreciate it on rocky trails and when riding a heavier bike.
The TR version supports tubeless use, which allows more sensitive pressure tuning and better contact with the terrain. The result is usually fewer punctures and a calmer line through rough ground.
The tire size is 29x2.60 inches for modern mountain bikes.
The ETRTO size is 66-622 for precise seating on the rim.
The recommended pressure is 40 PSI for balanced support and traction.
The tire weight is 1,271 g in black.
Maxxis Assegai MaxxTerra/EXO+/TR is an MTB tire built around confidence in corners and predictable braking performance. Thanks to its 2.60-inch width, it delivers a stable line and support on rough trails. The folding kevlar bead is a plus for transport and replacement.
