When the trail starts to undulate and the ground beneath your wheels alternates between dirt, roots, and small stones, you want a tire that holds its line and doesn’t slow you down. Maxxis Forekaster in the 29x2,40" size will support you in corners and under braking. That sense of confidence comes quietly, but you’ll notice it within the first few meters.
The Maxxis Forekaster MaxxTerra/EXO/TR 29x2,40 MTB tire is built for modern trail and XC riding, where speed and predictable behavior when leaned over both matter. Compared to more aggressive tread patterns, it rolls faster while still delivering reliable support in corners.
The MaxxTerra compound is tuned for mixed conditions, so you don’t have to worry about surface changes within a single ride. Grip is predictable on climbs and under braking, which you’ll appreciate on technical singletrack.
EXO sidewall protection helps prevent cuts and abrasion when you ride over rocks or roots. Thanks to this, the tire can handle everyday trail abuse without unnecessary compromises in ride feel.
The Tubeless Ready design, marked TR, allows tubeless use for better traction and a lower risk of flats. You can mount the tire on the front or rear depending on how you want to balance speed and traction.
The tire size is 29x2,40" for a 29-inch rim diameter.
The ETRTO size is 61-622 for precise fit on the corresponding rim.
The casing has a 60 TPI thread count for a balanced mix of durability and compliance.
Recommended pressure is 50 PSI for trail and XC use.
Maxxis Forekaster in the MaxxTerra/EXO/TR version is a responsive MTB tire that works well on trails and fast cross-country rides. With a 2,40" width, it delivers stability and confidence when the terrain starts to change. The black finish and kevlar bead make it a practical choice for riders who want to ride often and without unnecessary hassle.
