Pirelli Scorpion XC R ProWALL 29x2,20" is a tire designed for XC and marathon.

The R model has a specific design intended for the rear wheel. It features a tread pattern with a medium-height block profile and medium spacing between them to enhance traction and durability. Additionally, the tire is characterized by a high level of reliability and long lifespan. It performs best when paired with the M model on the front wheel for maximum performance and ideal riding characteristics.

GENERAL TECHNOLOGIES USED:

ProWALL
The protective sidewall reinforcement technology improves puncture resistance and provides a more stable performance when using low tire pressures. An added layer of nylon fabric over the casing on the sidewall increases resistance not only to cuts and pinch flats but also enhances the tire's overall behavior in corners, allowing better bike control and more precise line holding. These features were achieved without compromising the tire's weight and power transfer efficiency, making tires with this technology perfect for racing XC and aggressive Trail riding when matched with the appropriate casing (120tpi or 60tpi).

SmartGRIP
This top-tier rubber compound is a product of Pirelli's experience gained from off-road racing circuits for 2- and 4-wheel vehicles worldwide. Pirelli engineers developed a compound with two diametrically opposed properties:
• cut resistance: guarantees maximum mechanical grip and traction in dry conditions and higher puncture resistance along with longer lifespan
• chemical grip in wet conditions: no need to worry about changing conditions, whether it rains or the track has muddy and slippery sections

The result is a longer lifespan of the tire's riding properties, which maintains excellent grip and traction in contradictory conditions such as dry and wet. These characteristics are preserved even as the tread wears down. In contrast to multi-compound rubber mixtures, the single-compound SmartGRIP ensures balanced riding characteristics throughout the tire's wear and entire lifespan. Greater mechanical resistance of the rubber also provides higher resistance not only to wear but also to punctures.
