One of the lightest full-suspension bikes with a carbon frame in the Santa Cruz lineup. We've utilized everything we've learned over years of making the highest quality carbon full-suspension bikes and added the ultra-efficient Superlight™ suspension to create an XC race bike that's won the World Cup.
It’s not guaranteed that the Blur will make you a race winner, but since it's the lightest full-suspension carbon XC bike we've ever made, it could be the difference between taking first place... or just crossing the line.
We use the same proprietary processes for our "C Carbon" frames as we do for our highest spec frames to retain the same legendary strength and stiffness that our CC frames are known for, but there is a slight weight penalty. We've achieved this by using a different grade of carbon material that results in minimal weight gain.
Proportional geometry and stiffness is our way of specifically engineering each frame size so that certain elements scale as the frame size increases - so no matter your build, there are no compromises with performance, efficiency or fit.
We've taken this concept to the next level with proportional rear center or chainstay length and uniform frame stiffness. The result is a bike that is perfectly tuned in every size.
Our priority with Superlight™ was to make sure that every kilojoule of your energy is converted into forward thrust, which meant designing something that was both lightweight and really efficient. XC racing is no longer a ride in the park - the trails are tough and the competition is fierce. With the Superlight™, you'll retain plenty of traction, but not at the expense of added weight - by reducing the number of moving parts, bearings and linkages, we saved 289g in the switch from VPP™.
Unlike the VPP™, our Superlight™ doesn't use a bottom bracket or an additional pin somewhere in the rear - the seat tube is slightly flexible.
