The new generation of the ultimate XC racing bike, Scalpel Carbon 2 Lefty, is now even faster and more fun.
Riding the new Scalpel is more thrilling than ever before with the most advanced suspension and geometry. Scalpel is fast on every part of the trail. Where others hesitate, it flies through; it overtakes where others brake. The new Scalpel marks a whole new era of XC.
The Cannondale Factory Racing cross-country team clearly expressed their needs: give us more. So we did. The new Scalpel brings more aggressive geometry and a more capable specification, helping you dominate every XC race and your favorite trails.
When you sit on the new Cannondale Scalpel, you'll dominate where others hesitate, you'll have grip where others will slide, and you'll attack when everyone's out of breath!
Thanks to the FlexPivot technology, Proportional Response, and 120 mm of travel, the Scalpel delivers incredible traction, even more comfort, and much more fun—while retaining all the efficiency and responsiveness you'd expect from a World Cup racing machine.
The beauty of speed, pure design, that's how you can talk about the new Scalpel. But every element is designed primarily for its function—kinematics, weight, stiffness, and the ability to be the best. Speed begins with geometry, and the Scalpel's is at the highest level. More power and traction on climbs, more precise cornering control, and a whole new level of confidence at speed.
Cannondale is an American company founded in 1971. It is one of the most innovative and pioneering firms in the bicycle industry. The year 1983 was the first year that Cannondale introduced its bike. It caused a stir right away - it was the beginning of an era of bikes made with aluminum frames; until then, frames were primarily made of steel. Single-sided forks, completely redesigned frames and products that gave racing and cycling in general a new lease of life. This is one of the greatest strengths of this great manufacturer, which has not been bound by convention, and thanks to this we can admire, for example, the Lefty fork.
Proportional Response is Cannondale's approach to bike frame geometry in a way that ensures optimal stiffness, compliance and balance for each frame size. This system allows you to take advantage of the best riding characteristics, regardless of your height.
Flex pivot is the key to the Scalpel's incredible suspension performance and reduced weight. These patented flexible carbon chainstays behave just like Horst Link pivots, but are lighter, stiffer, and more durable than bearing-based options.
Compatible with the STASH Kit repair kit, where you can find everything you need for quick repairs on the trail. They are elegantly hidden beneath the bottle cage for quick and easy access.
The frame allows the installation of two bottles for an even better hydration possibilities without unnecessary bags and backpacks.
