The Giant Fathom E+ 2 S Stardust Grey is a hardtail mountain e-bike designed for trail riding and sporty off-road outings. It’s built around the Giant SyncDrive Pro 3X mid-drive motor and 29" wheels for stability at higher speeds. The spec sits in the mid-range segment, where the key is a balanced mix of drivetrain performance, handling, and durability.
The frame is made from ALUXX-grade aluminium and uses an OverDrive headset for more precise front-wheel tracking. The rear end features a 148x12 mm thru-axle for greater stiffness under pedaling load. Up front, there’s an SR Suntour XCM34 fork with 130 mm of travel and a 15x110 mm axle. The frame includes an integrated KSA40 kickstand mount and is ready for both off-road use and practical everyday riding.
Drivetrain: Shimano CUES LinkGlide shifting runs a 1x10 setup paired with a Shimano CUES Shadow+ rear derailleur. The Shimano CUES LinkGlide cassette offers an 11–48 range, and the cranks are made from a forged aluminium alloy.
Brakes: Shimano MT-200 hydraulic disc brakes use 180 mm rotors front and rear. The rotor mounting is Center-Lock.
Wheels and tires: Giant XCT 29 wheels are tubeless ready and have a 25 mm internal rim width. Shimano TC500 Boost hubs are matched with Maxxis Rekon 29x2.4" tires with EXO sidewalls.
Cockpit: Giant Connect TR riser handlebars measure 760 mm on size S and 780 mm on sizes M through XXL. The stem is a Giant Contact, and the seatpost is a 30.9 mm aluminium post with a two-bolt clamp.
The combination of 29" wheels and a trail-tuned chassis with Boost axles increases stability on descents and through fast sections. The 130 mm travel fork helps keep the front wheel planted on rough ground. The Giant SyncDrive Pro 3X motor with 100 Nm of torque improves acceleration on steep climbs. PedalPlus 6-sensor technology meters assistance based on rider input and cadence, supporting smooth, consistent power delivery.
This bike is designed for riders who want a hardtail e-MTB for trails, forest roads, and longer off-road loops. It will appeal to experienced cyclists focused on climbing efficiency, range, and control on rough surfaces. Thanks to Smart Assist, Walk Assist, and E-Lock, it also makes sense for combining off-road riding with everyday commuting.
