The Eclipse Pro is a helmet for cyclists who want to get the most out of every watt. It was developed in collaboration with elite riders of the Visma team and its shape was repeatedly optimized using CFD analyses and wind tunnel testing at Giro. The result is a model that's up to 17% faster than the iconic Eclipse – and ready for race pace from road stages to demanding gravel marathons.
Maximum safety is ensured by the Spherical Powered by MIPS technology in combination with Aura II reinforcement, which helps better dissipate energy upon impact. The helmet thus offers top-notch protection without compromise in weight or comfort.
All-day comfort is provided by 15 ventilation openings and Wind Tunnel, which efficiently dissipate heat even during intense performance. The DryCore system in the frontal padding effectively captures sweat and prevents it from dripping into the eyes. Yet, the Eclipse Pro retains an exceptionally low weight comparable to the lightest fully ventilated road helmets.
Eclipse Pro combines advanced aerodynamics, high level of protection, and comfort for long hours in the saddle. An ideal choice for everyone who rides full throttle – and wants to win.
Helmet sizing system. It's most easily identified by the simple and effective rear thumb-turn knob, which improved fit over the older two-button system and allowed Giro to reduce weight. Despite its minimalist design, the Roc Loc 5 is durable.
Spherical technology uses two separate inserts to help manage impact forces. The material and density of the inner and outer liner can be optimized with progressive layering to help handle a wide range of impact forces. When you combine the benefits of progressive layering with the market-leading MIPS® Brain Protection System, which helps redirect rotational motion away from the brain, you get more comprehensive protection.
EPS is expanded polystyrene. It is a strong and rigid material with a cellular structure, composed of 2% polystyrene and the rest is air.
