The Grade 2021 is here, designed from the ground up for maximum adventure.
It's more comfortable, versatile, and adjustable than ever before. With a new look and a purposeful redesign of the iconic Triple Triangle, the new GT Grade is designed for longer and faster rides on a wide variety of surfaces.
“The GT brand celebrated great success with the introduction of the original Grade model in 2015. GT was at the forefront of the emerging gravel bike scene, being the first to present a carbon frame model equipped with disc brakes, designed for riding on gravel roads,” said Patrick Kaye, GT Product Manager. “The increased performance and added adaptability tailor the GT Grade to current trends.”
The new GT Grade features a completely redesigned Triple Triangle frame that has floating seat stays compared to the original model. This solution increases comfort during all-day rides in varied terrain due to greater vertical compliance.
The front fork is carbon on the aluminum Expert and Elite models, but unfortunately, it lacks the ability to adjust geometry using a flip chip.
For long journeys and endless adventures, the Grade is equipped with mounting points on the fork and frame. You can attach a carry bag to the top tube, while the fork includes points for "anything cages" and the alloy frames feature bottle mounts even on the seat stays!
A key parameter is tire clearance. The Grade follows current trends by outfitting its wheels with 37 mm tires, which is a good compromise for both road and gravel rides. However, the bike can accommodate up to 42 mm for true off-road adventures.
The Grade is designed with service simplicity in mind, following the brand's philosophy. The shifting and brake cables are routed externally. Di2 and the dropper seatpost, which are not expected to require frequent replacement or servicing, have internal routing for a clean frame appearance. The Grade also has no specific components, allowing riders to easily customize the bike according to their preferences.
