The Maxxis Forekaster MaxxTerra/EXO+/TR 29x2,40 tire will keep you on track when the trail transitions from hardpack to roots and rocks. It rolls fast, yet feels confident and predictable in corners.
The Forekaster tread pattern is tuned for modern XC and trail riding, where you want both speed and control without unnecessary compromises. It performs reliably when climbing, braking, and leaning the bike over as conditions change quickly.
The MaxxTerra compound delivers balanced grip and sensible durability for mixed terrain, from dry dirt to wetter forest sections. Traction is predictable, so the bike feels easier to read even at higher speeds.
EXO+ protection reinforces the sidewalls against cuts and abrasion, which you’ll appreciate in rocky sections and on roots. The butyl insert at the bead helps reduce pinch flats and protects the rim on harder impacts.
The TR tubeless-ready design helps lower the risk of punctures and lets you run pressures that boost traction. You can mount the tire on the front or rear wheel depending on your riding style.
The tire size is 29x2,40 inches for wheels with a 29-inch rim diameter.
The ETRTO size is 61-622 for a precise fit on a compatible rim.
The casing has a 60 TPI construction and a folding Kevlar bead.
The recommended pressure is 50 PSI and the tire weight is 0.997 kilograms.
Maxxis Forekaster in the MaxxTerra/EXO+/TR version is an MTB tire for riders who want fast rolling and confidence on the trail. It’s well suited to shorter-travel bikes and the modern “downcountry” style, where every mistake counts.
Thanks to its more durable construction and tubeless readiness, it’s a great match for a bike that gets pushed hard in the woods and on rocky ridgelines. In black, it looks clean and doesn’t distract from the bike’s design.
