POC Otocon Race MIPS is a well-ventilated cycling helmet featuring a low weight, a removable grille, and a Race Lock dial for easy size adjustment.
The helmet has sophisticated ventilation that channels air through the helmet, ensuring comfort even in warm summer weather.
The option to remove the grille at the front or the cheek pads will be appreciated especially by more demanding riders.
Thanks to its light weight and ventilation, it’s ideal for enduro races, weekends spent at the bikepark or technical riding close to home.
The helmet’s visor detaches during a crash, so it won’t cause any additional unnecessary injuries. Another big plus is that it’s designed to accommodate a GoPro mount on its underside.
The inside of the helmet was made from two materials to achieve the lowest possible weight, and it also offers adjustment at the rear to fine-tune the fit.
This highly ventilated helmet is equipped with integrated technology, including Mips® rotational impact protection, the NFC Medical ID identification number from twICEme®, and the RECCO® reflector to enhance safety.
Mips is a technology in the form of a special yellow insert inside the helmet, which has the task of reducing rotational forces acting on the head and brain in the event of a crash or fall while riding a bicycle. In principle, Mips works between two layers of the helmet shell, which rotate in relation to each other during a fall. This technology is being used by more and more major and minor helmet manufacturers, so if a helmet has this technology, you can tell by the small yellow logo on the outside of the helmet. Currently there are about 5 kinds of Mips system.
Near-Field Communication systém (NFC) is a short-range wireless communication technology. It is built into the helmet shell with a chip and used in the helmet to store medical documentation in the event of an accident. This helps the paramedics to proceed better with respect to the rider's medical card.
Thanks to The RECCO® Reflector you will be traceable for rescuers. It is a lightweight passive transponder that consists of a diode and an antenna. This chip system has been used by more than 150 brands of jackets, pants, backpacks, pads, helmets and many other equipment. The system does not wear out except in cases of physical damage and will last forever.
