Sponser Long Energy is a high-quality hypotonic sports drink designed to speed up glycogen storage in the muscles and accelerate recovery for activities lasting over 2 hours.
The powder is alkaline, has low osmolality, and contains 5% protein (10% protein – Berry flavor) in the form of fast-acting peptides.
It contains a wide range of carbohydrates with different glycemic indexes. A key role among the carbohydrates is played by Vitargo – a patented hydrolysate of barley starch. Vitargo has low osmolality and is processed very quickly in the stomach. Studies with Vitargo as the primary energy source have shown 70% faster glycogen storage in the muscles.
In addition to PeptoPro (the fastest and best-absorbed protein), LONG ENERGY is enriched with glutamine and BCAA (branched-chain essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine) and electrolytes (sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium, and calcium).
A high glutamine content (1000–1100 mg/100 g) has a positive effect on ammonia breakdown and maintaining nitrogen balance in the body. Glutamine dramatically improves the recovery of muscle fibers, supports glycogen formation, stops catabolic processes, and boosts immunity.
Also, a high BCAA content (1120–2140 mg/100 g) positively affects protein synthesis. The branched-chain amino acids L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine make up a significant portion of all amino acids that form muscle tissue. Under intense physical exertion, the energy reserve formed by glycogen becomes depleted and energy production from branched-chain amino acids begins. This unfavorable situation can be prevented by supplying branched-chain amino acids – BCAA.
In addition to using the drink during activity, it can also be recommended for consumption immediately after finishing the activity to ensure hydration, replenish glycogen stores, protect muscle mass, and kick-start the recovery process.
With very high energy needs, the concentration can be increased up to 100 g/liter. For recovery, mix 60–80 g of powder with 500 ml of water. The bottle with the drink should be shaken well.
