Giant Trance 29 2 is a full-suspension 29" bike designed for trails.
The high-quality ALUXX SL aluminum frame guarantees low weight, as well as stiffness and strength. To further enhance these qualities, the upper rocker link is made from a carbon composite.
Four carefully positioned pivots and two Maestro suspension links together create a single virtual (floating) pivot point for the rear triangle. This neutralizes the effect of the rear brake, keeping the system fully active and highly sensitive to all types of bumps—without unwanted bobbing while pedaling.
Flip Chip inserts in the upper rocker link allow you to fine-tune the geometry so the bike adapts to your riding style or the terrain you ride most often. The Low position is suitable for aggressive riding (head angle 65.5°, seat angle 76.3°), while the High position is more for an XC riding position (66.2/77°).
State-of-the-art aluminum material is made predominantly from 6011 alloy and delivers best-in-class strength-to-weight ratios. These framesets also feature unique welding technologies for a high-performance ride quality.
Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages all work together to create a single floating pivot for the most active, efficient and independent suspension system on the trail.
The oversized fork steerer aims to increase the stiffness of the front of the frameset and steering for precise control. Oversized headset bearings (bottom 1 1/4" and top 1 1/8" on road bikes and bottom 1 1/2" and top 1 1/8" on MTB bikes) and tapered fork steerer are included for optimal steering stiffness .
The Flip Chip system presents fast geometry adjustment for better adaptation to the terrain and style of the environment. It is based on offset, double-positioned inserts in the upper linkage. Turning these inserts changes the headtube and seatube angles and bottom bracket height. A hex key is all you need to make the change.
Tubeless rims and tires have a design adapted for tubeless use, provided they are supplemented with sealant, tape and valves. Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits - the ability to run the tire with lower air pressure, which improves traction, lower rolling resistance compared to a tube tire, and less chance of a puncture.
