Description

Nukeproof Mega 290 Pro Alloy Eagle 90 full-suspension bike Yellow is a 29" enduro mountain bike built for race pace and tough tracks. It sits in a higher performance class where stiffness under load, downhill stability, and pedaling efficiency are key. It’s aimed at riders who want a blend of durable aluminum and modern suspension kinematics.

Frame and geometry

At its core is a 6061 T6 aluminum alloy frame with hydroformed tubes and butted profiles. The design uses a Horst link rear suspension system with 160 mm of rear travel. The geometry follows the Long, Low, Slack and Steep concept, with a 64° head angle. Sizes S to XXL have a reach of 430 to 515 mm and chainstays of 435 or 440 mm.

The frame features internal cable routing and an ISCG 05 mount for a guide. MAX bearings are used, along with a threaded 73 mm bottom bracket. There are also molded rubber frame protectors and clearance for tires up to 2.6". A 750 ml bottle fits in the front triangle, and there’s an accessory mount under the top tube.

Components

Drivetrain: The 12-speed SRAM Eagle 90 uses a 30T chainring and a 10–52T cassette. Shifting is handled by the SRAM Eagle 90 rear derailleur, and the crankset interface is DUB.

Brakes: SRAM Maven Bronze disc brakes use organic pads. SRAM Centerline 2.0 rotors are 200 mm front and rear.

Wheels and tires: Nukeproof Neutron V2 wheelset comes in 29" and uses Boost axles 15×110 mm and 148×12 mm. Tires are a Schwalbe Magic Mary Evo 29×2.4" up front and a Schwalbe Tacky Chan Evo 29×2.4" in the rear.

Cockpit: Nukeproof Neutron V2 handlebars have a 25 mm rise and a width of 780 or 800 mm depending on size. The Nukeproof Horizon stem is 45 mm long, and the Tranz-X YS108 dropper post has 150 to 230 mm of travel.

Ride characteristics

The combination of a 6061 T6 aluminum frame and Boost spacing increases torsional stiffness under braking and in fast compressions. The Horst link kinematics are tuned for a sensitive initial stroke, solid support in the mid-stroke, and progressive ramp-up at the end of travel. The steep 77.5 to 78° seat tube angle improves positioning on climbs and helps keep the front wheel tracking. The 64° head angle and longer wheelbase promote stability at high speed on rough terrain.

Who it’s for

This bike targets experienced enduro riders and bikepark tracks who value the predictability and service-friendly nature of an aluminum frame. With 170 mm up front and 160 mm in the rear, it’s suitable for racing as well as long downhill stages. Compared to trail bikes, it emphasizes stability and extra margin on hard landings.
