Santa Cruz V10 8 CC MX 27 DH S downhill bike in Gloss Liquid Blue is a full-suspension MTB built for downhill riding with a mullet wheel setup. It targets experienced riders who prioritize high-speed stability, service durability, and consistent suspension performance. It’s a race-focused spec with a clearly defined focus on bike parks and downhill tracks.
The frame is made from **Carbon CC** composite and uses **VPP™** suspension with 208 mm of rear travel. The MX concept combines a 29" front wheel and a 27.5" rear wheel for stability in rough terrain and easier handling of the rear end. Adjustments include a flip chip on the lower link and a flip chip on the rear axle. Angle-set headset cups are also available to adjust frame length and fine-tune fit.
Drivetrain: SRAM GX shifter in a 1x7 setup is paired with a SRAM GX DH rear derailleur. The SRAM PG720 DH 11–25t cassette works with a threaded SRAM DUB 83 mm bottom bracket.
Brakes: SRAM Maven Bronze hydraulic disc brakes run SRAM HS2 rotors—220 mm up front and 200 mm in the rear. The setup is aimed at thermal stability on long descents.
Wheels and tires: Reserve 30|HD rims made from 6069 aluminum are laced to Industry Nine 1/1 or DT Swiss 350 hubs. Maxxis Assegai 29x2.5 up front and Maxxis Minion DHR II 27.5x2.5 in the rear use 3C MaxxGrip compound and DH casing.
Cockpit: OneUp Aluminum Bar handlebars use a 35 mm clamp; on size S, Burgtec RW Alloy DH Bar handlebars are used with a 31.8 mm clamp. A OneUp Direct Mount Stem is paired with Burgtec Bartender Pro Grip grips, a Fizik Alpaca Gravita X5 saddle, and a RaceFace Chester 31.6 seatpost.
200 mm of travel up front and 208 mm in the rear increases control in rough terrain and helps you hold a line while braking through bumps. The mullet configuration adds stability at the front while making the rear end more manageable in tight sections. The RockShox Vivid Select+ Coil coil shock delivers consistent response on repeated hits and fluctuates less over longer runs. The 17.10 kg weight matches a downhill build focused on strength and longevity.
This Santa Cruz V10 is designed for advanced riders and racers who ride downhill tracks, lift-assisted enduro days, and bike park lines. It makes sense where traction, stability, and repeated loads on long descents are the priority. Compared with enduro bikes, it offers more suspension headroom and more precise handling at high speed.
