Focus Atlas 8.9 Spaceclouds is a gravel bike built for fast riding on asphalt and gravel, as well as multi-day bikepacking. It’s a 2026 model year in a higher performance class, based on a carbon platform with wireless shifting. It focuses on efficient power transfer and compatibility with tubeless tires.
The frame is made from a carbon composite with internal cable routing and an integrated cockpit in the FOCUS C.I.S. system. Cockpit: Zipp Service Course SL 70 XPLR handlebars are made from an aluminum alloy and feature a gravel shape with flared drops. The integrated FOCUS C.I.S. 2.0 stem has a -8° angle and a mount for Garmin or Wahoo.
The carbon frame and fork deliver high torsional stiffness, which is noticeable when accelerating out of the saddle and when climbing out of the saddle. The combination of a 1x13 drivetrain and a 10–46 cassette provides a wide gear range without a front derailleur and simplifies operation in variable terrain. The 45 mm tires in a tubeless setup increase comfort on rough gravel and improve traction when braking through corners. The 700c wheels with gravel rims support stability at higher speeds and predictable line holding on broken surfaces.
Focus Atlas 8.9 Spaceclouds is designed for experienced riders who want a gravel bike for sporty training as well as longer trips with gear. With wireless shifting and carbon wheels, it targets riders who prioritize efficiency and precise control over long distances. Compared to aluminum gravel bikes in the same category, it offers lower weight and greater cockpit integration.
The designers reduced the weight of both frames and optimized their geometry to provide a nimbler riding performance. But that's not all: both gravel models can now handle a maximum system weight of 135 kg. They allow for the use of tires up to 48 mm (series 6) or 45 mm (series 8) and up to 53 mm (for both series) on the fork, and they also offer a large number of mounting points for bikepacking equipment. All versions now feature a clean cockpit thanks to the C.I.S. stem. One of the best features of the ATLAS model is that fitting it with fenders or racks is a breeze. The rack can be mounted on both series, and the new addition is a front rack, giving the bike that trendy look. It can be loaded with luggage up to 5 kg. It is not approved for use with the previous version of the ATLAS model. You can distinguish between the two models by checking if the seatpost clamp is integrated into the top tube (new ATLAS model) or not (old ATLAS model).
