Fast and versatile
The Advanced Composite carbon frame and Advanced SL Composite fork together deliver low weight, high efficiency, and perfect handling. The flip-chip system with two positions located at the rear dropouts allows you to adjust the wheelbase: short for faster handling or long for more tire clearance (up to 53 mm) and greater stability. The frame also allows for the choice of seat post type, so you can use either the Giant D-Fuse seat post for more comfort or a standard round (and also telescopic) seat post of 30.9 mm.
High comfort
The frame has lower seated seat stays of smaller diameter for even better shock and vibration absorption. The increased comfort, which reduces fatigue on rough roads or long distances, is also supported by the D-Fuse SLR carbon seat post and the Contact SLR XR D-Fuse carbon handlebars—both work together as a system and slightly flex under load, without reducing stiffness when cornering, climbing, or riding out of the saddle.
Smart integration
Internally routed cables offer a clean and aesthetic look to the cockpit and better aerodynamic performance. The easily accessible storage space in the downtube allows you to safely carry tools, nutrition, and other essentials. Additional integrated mounts on the top tube, fork, and rear triangle make it easier to install bags or fenders if needed. The all-new specially shaped frame protection (under the chain and on the downtube) helps protect the frame from impacts and also dampens noise.
High-performance raw carbon material with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio is used to produce the custom Advanced Composite material. The front triangle of the frame is assembled and molded as one continuous piece (monocoque) using a proprietary manufacturing process called Modified Monocoque Construction.
The flip chip system is a two-position eccentric insert in the rear frame feet that allows you to easily change the wheelbase. A shorter wheelbase gives you a more agile nike, while setting it to a longer wheelbase improves stability at higher speeds while increasing the space for the rear tire (up to 53 mm wide).
A massively oversized bottom-bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 86-millimeter wide bottom-bracket design (92-millimeter wide for off-road bikes). Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
The oversized fork steerer aims to increase the stiffness of the front of the frameset and steering for precise control. Oversized headset bearings (bottom 1 1/4" and top 1 1/8" on road bikes and bottom 1 1/2" and top 1 1/8" on MTB bikes) and tapered fork steerer are included for optimal steering stiffness .
A massive rectangular down tube and an oversized top tube create excellent lateral and torsional steering precision at the front end. A precisely designed, rectangular shaped downtube provides unprecedented steering and pedaling stiffness.
The D-Fuse seatpost was designed to absorb road shocks and vibrations so you can ride farther, faster. It works by slightly springing the seat post under load, thanks to its specific "D" shape.
Compact Road revolutionized the look and feel of high-performance road bikes forever. A downward sloping toptube (from the headtube to the seattube) creates smaller front and rear triangles for a lighter, stiffer bike. It also makes it easier for riders of all sizes to have a perfect fit.
